Strawberry Shortcake Character Biographies

STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE AND CUSTARD

Strawberry Shortcake lives in a strawberry house that grew out of the ground especially for her. Her day begins and ends with a smile, with laughter in between. Her world extends as far as the next strawberry patch, where she happily tends to her larger than life berries. She's usually accompanied by Custard, her polka dot kitten. Together, they criss-cross a lovely, imaginary land, picking strawberries and making jam and other treats from the harvest. Strawberry enjoys a simple country life. Her thought sand work are uncomplicated. She's direct, honest and somewhat naive. And, like all optimists, she rarely sees beyond the next sunbeam. As long as there are plants to be cared for and friend to share them with, all's right with the word for Strawberry Shortcake.

HUCKLEBERRY PIE AND PUPCAKE

Huckleberry Pie lives just across the valley from Strawberry Shortcake in a house that's usually somewhat untidy. Since huckleberries grow wild, they require little tending, providing Huckleberry plenty of time for playing or just being lazy. He spends most of his time fishing in the Soda Pop Stream with his mischievous dog, Pupcake.

BLUEBERRY MUFFIN AND CHEESECAKE

Blueberry Muffin lacks common sense, is forgetful and is always in a slight tizzy, but despite her endearing shortcomings, she's loved by all. She's generous to a fault, is a gifted story teller and is never too busy to help with a problem. Cheesecake, her pet mouse, follows her everywhere, usually to clean up after her.

APPLE DUMPLIN AND TEATIME TURTLE

Apple Dumplin is the baby of the group. Most of her days are spent with one or another of the Strawberry Kids who look after her and play with her. She's too little to help with chores, but she's content to watch everyone else go about their business. Her closest companion is Tea-time turtle.

RASPBERRY TART AND RHUBARB

Raspberry's an outspoken little girl with a quick mind and a quicker mouth, who's words often gets her into trouble. She means well and is usually quite sweet, but somewhat lacking in the tact department. Her pal, Rhubarb the monkey is equally adept at starting arguments and playing practical jokes.

ORANGE BLOSSOM AND MARMALADE

Despite her good looks, Orange Blossom is a shy little person who tends to downplay her own appearance and accomplishments. She has an artistic talent and her expertise lends beauty to many parts of Strawberryland. Her pet butterfly, Marmalade, is just as pretty and as quiet as Orange Blossom

APRICOT AND HOPSALOT

Apricot is an outgoing and fun loving toddler with many remarkable words in her limited vocabulary. She surprises everyone with such words as "phenomenal, erudite, diplomacy" and the like. Her constant companion is Hopsalot, a well meaning but rather clumsy white rabbit.

LEMON MERINGUE AND FRAPPE FROG

Lemon Meringue is a very feminine little lady who often spends hours primping and preening until she feels she looks "just so." She can be a little overbearing and prissy at times, but quite often she is right. Frappe Frog is her best pal because he in no way competes with her beauty.

LIME CHIFFON AND PARFAIT PARROT

Some would call Lime Chiffon a dreamer. She prefers to think of herself as simply having high aspirations. She loves to dance, but is shy and a bit of a longer. As a matter of fact, the main reason why Parfait and Lime Chiffon have become so close is that Parfait does most of the talking for the two of them.

ANGEL CAKE AND SOUFFLE

Angel Cake's name is indicative of the person. She is truly a little angel. Lost causes and unfortunate creatures are her forte, and she will go out of her way to aid either. She's always helping someone, or dropping a pleasant words. Souffle, Angel Cake's pet skunk, is quite happy to help with whatever Angel Cake is doing.

CHERRY CUDDLER AND GOOSEBERRY

Cherry Cuddler is a lovable little toddler who likes nothing better than to give and receive great big, giant hugs. She is outgoing, a real extrovert and is not above accepting a challenge. She often tried to do things far beyond her years, but her pet Gooseberry faithfully follows the little toddler about and honks at the slightest sign of danger.

BUTTER COOKIE AND JELLY BEAR

Butter Cookie is the youngest of all the Strawberryland kids. Butter can't even toddle yet, just crawl. And what ever direction Butter Cookies' crawling in usually leads to food. Her pet's name is Jelly Bear, an active little guy with a weight problem.

PURPLE PIEMAN AND THE BERRY BIRD

The peculiar Purple Pieman of Porcupine Peak is the crafty, yet laughable villain of Strawberryland. Much of his evil is perpetrated by his basic laziness. His antics are just enough to raise eyebrows without striking fear into even the gentlest of hearts. He is aided in his sinister yet silly schemes by the Berry Birds.

SOUR GRAPES AND DREGGS

Sour Grapes is the snooty female counterpart to the Purple Pieman. They join forces many times in an effort to spoil the kids attempts at simple fun and good times. Usually, their villainous efforts fail cause they try to outdo each other. Her sidekick is a lowly snake named Dreggs, who she affectionately calls "her humble serpent."
